1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Umeetz (the "Service"), you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have read and understood these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"), and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Umeetz is a location-based social platform that enables users to discover and connect with people nearby across three modes: Dating, Business, and Friends. The Service includes user profiles, an interactive map, real-time chat, and related features.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at support@umeetz.com.
  • You may not create more than one account or create an account on behalf of another person without their consent.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:

  • Post false, misleading, or deceptive content.
  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm other users.
  • Upload content that is obscene, abusive, hateful, or illegal.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Solicit money or financial information from other users.
  • Use the Service for commercial solicitation without our prior written consent.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Collect data from other users without their consent.
  • Create profiles on behalf of minors or fake identities.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post on Umeetz (photos, bio, messages). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence and that your content does not violate any third-party rights.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, at our sole discretion.

6. Location Services

The core functionality of Umeetz relies on location data. By enabling location sharing, you consent to your approximate position being visible to other nearby users. You can disable location sharing at any time, though this will limit your ability to use key features. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share your location from any device you use.

7. Interactions Between Users

Umeetz facilitates connections between users but is not responsible for the conduct of any user on or off the Service. You interact with other users at your own risk. We strongly encourage you to exercise caution when meeting people in person and to follow our safety guidelines. We do not conduct background checks on users.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service (excluding user-submitted content) — including software, design, text, graphics, logos, and icons — are owned by Umeetz and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Umeetz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or from interactions with other users — including damages for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notifying you by email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
